recognition critical for optimal patient care.<sup>16<\/sup><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Cancer-Associated LEMS SCLC is often suspected based on a clinical triad of signs and symptoms<sup>4,17<\/sup>:<\/p>\n\n\n<?xml encoding=\"UTF-8\"><ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\"><span class=\"list-item-text\">Proximal muscle weakness<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\"><span class=\"list-item-text\">Autonomic symptoms (eg, dry mouth, impotence)<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\"><span class=\"list-item-text\">Hyporeflexia or CANCER<sup>4<\/sup><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-emagine-column em-col-8_sm-12-middle\"><?xml encoding=\"UTF-8\"><ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\"><span class=\"list-item-text\">Although most common with SCLC, LEMS may occur with other cancers<sup>6,18<\/sup><\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\"><span class=\"list-item-text\">Cancer-Associated LEMS SCLC predominantly affects men with a history of smoking who are 60 years of age or older<sup>5<\/sup><\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\"><span class=\"list-item-text\">Cancer-Associated LEMS SCLC symptoms may appear at the time of diagnosis or up to 5 years before<sup>18<\/sup>*<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\"><span class=\"list-item-text\">Patients with LEMS associated with SCLC often display a course that progresses more rapidly vs those with LEMS not associated with cancer<sup>5,12<\/sup><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-emagine-grid
